We Are The World Blogfest is here with its sixth edition !
By all means Pandora closed the jar before " Hope " could fly out . The story of Pandora, who was the first women on Earth according to Greek mythology was given a box which contained all the evils of this world . The moment she opened the box all the evils sneaked out but only "Hope " was left inside as she quickly shuts the lid .... thereby becoming a sustenance for the livings souls who eagerly wait for the good things to happen in life .
Hope Kolkata Foundation: Home

I hope with "Hope " to give hope to millions !!!

1. Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
2. All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Please make sure to add the names and links of the five co-hosts and include on of our graphics to your post
3. Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news that warms the cockles of our heart. No story is too big or small, as long as it goes beyond religion and politics, into the core of humanity.

Hi Sinchita - what a wonderful organisation to have in Kolkata helping children with all things as they grow into adults and can hopefully be released from the slums to lead better lives. The Foundation I'm sure brings lots of hope to these children - thank you so much for highlighting them and yes, Pandora's box can be opened to give them hope - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks Hillary for your wonderful comments .
DeleteOh my goodness, 250,000 homeless children in Calcutta? That's very sad news, so it is fortunate and a blessing to those children that the Hope Kolkata Foundation exists. I don't believe that any child should be without a home, food to eat and medical care. It appears that HKF feels the same. Thank you for sharing the good news of this organization and for participating in #WATWB.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary for such encouraging words . Pray to God that along with us , this foundation spread more goodness among children to help them grow into better individuals .
DeleteI love that they focus on education as well as the other things. Helping them break the cycle is key.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda for your comments .

DeleteAn organisation like Hope deserves all the support it can get. To break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty is so crucial for a people to achieve a bright future. Thanks for sharing this, and for your support to WATWB.
ReplyDeleteThanks Damayanti for your wonderful comments . Truly hope that this foundation can gather more support through this blog as well as other sources which would eradicate the negative forces of life and help these children blossom into better human beings .
DeleteIt's shocking to read that, in the 21st century, there are over 250,000 children who are forced to exist on the streets of Kolkata (Calcutta)... and since this is a global problem, there are still the millions of other homeless children in other parts of the world. Really sad.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for organisations such as the Hope Kolkata Foundation, which sheds much-needed light into the darkness that plagues so many children.
Thank you for sharing this story, Sinchita.
