I WANT TO FLY

                                                         " The boundless wings,
                                                           keep soaring high,
                                                           I want to fly,
                                                          through the azure sky."

These were the lines I wrote for myself after watching a spectacular event at the Singapore Air show 2014.The show was last held in 2010 and after a hiatus of four years,it returned to the venue with enchanting and enhancing performances,at Changi  Exhibition Centre. The main purpose of the event was to execute trade and business pertaining to aerospace industry and also make such events accessible to the public view in an area which is otherwise restricted.

The Singapore Air show claims to be the largest in Asia and globally  a very important aerospace and defence exhibition .This exhibition houses top aerospace companies from   all over the world who  exhibit their latest state-of-the-art systems and equipment, together with their related technologies and developments. This show is also a platform for high- level conferences like --the Singapore Aviation Leadership Summit and the Asia Pacific Security Conference ,a bid to build a network between the international government and military delegates.  The trade was organized from 11th till 14th Feb,while 15th and 16th of February was open to public view.

This is a flight of planes performing acrobatics in the sky.

Me and my family were lucky to get the ticket for Sunday show which started from 9:30 in the morning and lasted till 5 pm in the evening. When we reached the hotspot, thousands of
spectators were swarming around the gallery  while some were seated at the plaza. But nothing seem to undermine their enthusiasm, even at the face of the scorching Sun.My child managed to occupy a space for standing properly while myself and my husband huddled through the crowd just to find a place for us to rest our feet.

The iconic Commentary box from where the commentator announces the beginning of the show and the aircraft details as it hits the sky.

The ever spanning sky, stretching far and wide was welcoming me with endless delight. When I looked at the sky, beating the Sun's glare, neither I could see the horizon nor the nadir. The  Straits of Johor was gurgling beneath, creating waves and ripples at every move of the wind and changing the colours of the water from light green, green to a hue of greyish blue.

It was sharp 3pm when the first fighter plane zoomed through the sky rolling from one side to another, doing somersault so smoothly and diligently like a child playing peek-a-boo in an green field. The entire crowd was gazing at the sky. Fearlessly,  one after another airplanes circumnavigated the open sky ,then followed a sqaudron of aircrafts  which reigned over the blue firmament in order to mesmerize the audience with their adept acrobatics. The thunderous sounds of their flight   were  giving the special effects which were more laudable than painful. To commemorate Valentine's day the pilots also  crafted a heart shape in the sky darting with Cupid's arrow...No wonder we could shout that "Love is in the air".

Apart from this show, the rear end of the open ground was packed with different kinds of aircrafts with different details to enrich their knowledge of aerospace. They were also subject  of  photo shoot as many of the spectators fulfilled their desire of a dream flight. My enthusiastic  child was reluctant to play the pilot's role,so we only clicked few pictures to keep as a memento and also to  beautify my treasure box.
This ornament of my treasure box is too precious.
